The Voting Process in Weston

Steps to ensure you can vote in the September 1st primary election:

  1. Make a plan: when, where, how, with whom you will vote.

  2. Check your registration status. You will be listed as an inactive voter if you did not respond to the Annual Town Census this year. If you are listed as an inactive voter and have not voted in the last two consecutive federal elections, you will be taken off the registration list. To check your voter registration status, go to: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/VoterRegistrationSearch/MyVoterRegStatus.aspx

  3. If you are an inactive voter, you will need to bring an ID and fill out a form to vote, either before or on voting day. If you are not registered, you will not be able to vote in the September primary election, and you need to register ASAP to vote in November.

  4. Vote Early: To avoid potential interference with voting and to avoid lines, vote as early as you can. In-person early voting at the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall:

    • Monday August 24 - Thursday August 27: 7:30am - 5pm

    • Friday August 28: 7:30am - 1pm

  5. Two options for mail-in ballots:

    • Best option: Drop Off Mail-In Ballot at the Ballot Box located outside the Town Hall before 8pm on Tuesday, September 1st.

    • Or mail the ballot. It must be received by Sept.1st to be counted.

  6. Vote In-Person on election day, Tues. September 1st:

    • Polls open at 7am and close at 8pm.

    • Precincts 1 and 2 vote at the Town Hall

    • Precincts 3 and 4  vote at the Community Center.
